6-sun (18.18cm) Tanebasami are the recommended size for general-purpose scissors around the home. Tanebasami are hand-forged high-carbon steel, comfortable in the hand and wonderfully sharp.

Paulownia is a light, sustainable wood often used presentation boxes in Japan. It has a lovely grain and ages very nicely. Tanebasami gift boxes are heirloom quality and are printed with the Japanese kanji characters for 'hon-tanebasami', meaning 'genuine Tanegashima scissors'.

Ordered a pair of scissors for my mums birthday, received good advice on which to buy for her purposes.
Ordering was easy, with a lot of friendly and honest communication with Michael who also wrote a small birthday card which only made the gift so much better.
