5-sun (15.15cm) Tanebasami are ideal for tasks requiring precise cutting. At under 60 grams they are light and nimble in the hand and they cut very accurately. Perfect for patchwork, papercrafts, book-binding and repairs and many other creative pastimes.

Paulownia is a light, sustainable wood often used presentation boxes in Japan. It has a lovely grain and ages very nicely. Tanebasami gift boxes are heirloom quality and are printed with the Japanese kanji characters for 'hontanebasami', meaning 'genuine Tanegashima scissors'.
