Otsuka Hamono Table Knife 155mm Aogami #1
There's a great story behind this knife but we haven't got it entirely straight just yet - check back for some insight into the whys and wherefores of this unique form factor and how it came to be. There's some influence from continental Asia in there somewhere, we feel, and that would square with Tottori prefecture's historical contacts with Korea and further afield.
Your Otsuka table knife will be unique - each and every one is the result of close creative collaboration between Cocoro Store and Otsuka Hamono of Tottori prefecture. Cocoro meets kiri-aji - heart meets cutting feel.
Over a number of years Cocoro Store's Tanaka san has developed an expertise in curing, crafting and fitting these natural Yamazakura mountain cherry handles. We've held a number of them and the comfort is almost spiritual. Overstatement? You'll see.
Check some of our other listings for Otsuka san's knives to get a feel for the variety of handle we supply. By all means let us know your preference if you're guided by aesthetics; please also measure your palm and let us know your dominant hand so that Tanaka san may work his magic in selecting a handle just for you:
