Product Description
There are knifemakers who also forge scissors and shears, and if there's one thing we've learned it's that the guys who forge two blades to work in perfect unison can certainly make a fine single blade. Tosa city's Sasaoka Hasamiya is a fine example.
Sasaoka san's larger nakiri is longer than many and as sharp as any. It's a handcrafted item so expect some variation from blade to blade, in the example we photographed we like the hint of curvature and the durable walnut handle. We also like that Sasaoka san uses resin to protect the handle entry point from water ingress. Nice touch.
