- Yamamoto Hamono Kaku Nakiri-bocho 170mm Aogami #1
Product Description
Here a nakiri, there a nakiri, everywhere a nakiri. It seems every everyday knife we asked about in Yamamoto san's showroom, pointy or otherwise, he called a nakiri. This one is a nakiri in a form that is more common to the name.
Not quite as well finished as most. What we seek is a committed hobbyist to take this on as a beautification project. In the normal course of business this oops-ground nakiri wouldn't get a second look. We picked it up because of the guy who forged it and the fact that it was the only one there.
Yamamoto san is an old-timer, quite possible the oldest-timer. More famous for his forestry nata than his knives, admired for his longevity as much as his work. Nudging ninety-five and still forging. Sorry to say there may not be many more of these. The only way to get hold of them is to drop in to see Yamamoto san in Hyuga City on the way to somewhere else, not something we do every day.
