- Unshu Yukimitsu Hamono Petty Knife 150mm
Product Description
The thin, hand-crafted blade of this petty has the near-machined finish that is characteristic of Mr Kusunoki's work, in this case paired with a light and hardy keyaki handle for an overall length of 28.5 centimetres and weight of 66 grams.
The polished blade is shirogami white#1 clad in nantetsu. The two show little visual contrast which makes for a uniquely attractive blade.
Shirogami #1 steel forged as hard as this offers terrific sharpness and long edge life. Note it will be susceptible to rust/discoloration if some basic procedures aren't followed. Keep a damp cloth on hand for periodic wiping during extended sessions at the board and wipe your knife dry after use, preferably after rinsing the blade in hot water.
