Product Description

The sabaki-bocho is Oka san's long seller (Japanese term) and we're not surprised. It's a delightful little blade; a happy confluence of length, style, utility and craftsmanship. And in this iteration, shinyness. (There's a black-forged sabaki as well.)

The sabaki-bocho is a favourite of boar hunters working in the mountains of Kumamoto Prefecture, created for skinning and separating, very portable.

Mr Oka likens the style to a short Japanese tanto sword and that seems fair to us. In addition to length, steel, construction, sharpness, cost, legality and price this blade differs from a Japanese sword in one other crucial way: there's no scabbard for it. It's a knife that deserves a sheath, unfortunately there isn't one on offer so please bear that in mind. Still worth buying, though.
